So things have been going along the past week. I've been busy actually studying and doing homework. Elizabeth and I have been hanging out and still trying to figure out exactly where we are now. It's become a NSA kind of relationship. It's somewhat difficult for me as I have to keep my feelings out of it but at the same time. She's not always in the mood so I also have to keep my lust controlled as well.

Neda and I went out to dinner on Fri last week at Olive Garden. It was great hanging out with her. She told me her and her boyfriend were at the end of their relationship and that she was ready to break it off. So far she hasn't had the chance to sit down and talk to him since he rarely talks to her and never sees her any more. From my perspective this opens another opportunity but I'm not sure if I am ready to pursue it. In addition there is a guy at her work named Jasper who's been trying to make moves on her, but she said she really isn't interested in me. My instincts tell me she wants me. I think at this point I'm just going to sit back and see how things unfold. Until she sorts things out with her boyfriend, I'm not going to really think too much about it. As far as women being interested in me, there are a few other girls but I don't think a relationship is truly viable with any of them. For those keeping track, I haven't changed my facebook status because some of those girls I haven't told I'm single and want to give my self some space before they do the whole "awww I'm so sorry blah blah blah, come over and I'll make you feel better blah blah blah". Not to say that they aren't sincere but most of them have ulterior motives as well. But we all do at one point or another. I guess there's nothing really wrong with it, but I guess when it's so blatant, I just rather avoid it all together.

Speaking of ulterior motives. In debate, one of my favorite arguments is alternate causality. Which basically says there are multiple causes of the problem and the other team only deals with a small portion of the causes and thus can never solve the problem without a holistic view point. Now there are some counter arguments about risk of solvency (passing the plan has a chance to do some good even if it can't completely solve the problems). But so often, alternate causality just chops away so much of the other teams ground and significance, it's a great weapon and can just completely de-link massive arguments. I've now been thinking about how ulterior motives play a roll in policy creation and that the idea of policy "for the people" is just some meaningless tag now. I'm thinking a critical position can be created saying the other team has no real intention of helping people but rather has ulterior motives and this bill which will inevitably be stacked with riders only further entrenches the current political system which continues to deteriorate. In the end, the plan becomes another failed policy which has been ill conceived and used only as a tool to get votes to keep people in power. Just an idea.

My mom has planned a couple of trips for us. A weekend trip to Phoenix and Sedona on Thanksgiving weekend and a 2 week trip to China for Chinese new years on late Jan. Hopefully they will be fun trips.


The Sharks have jumped out a 3-0-0 start. Hopefully they keep it up.
